Guatemala coffee is a high-quality coffee that is certified and graded as SHB, which stands for Strictly Hard Bean. This means that the coffee beans have been grown at high altitudes of 1200-1616 meters above sea level, where the cooler temperatures and lower oxygen levels slow down the growth of the coffee cherries, resulting in denser and more flavorful beans.

This particular coffee is medium roasted, allowing the unique flavor characteristics of the beans to shine through. When brewed, it offers a tasting profile of dark chocolate, bright fruit, and butterscotch. These flavors are the result of the combination of the four different varieties of coffee grown by smallholder farmers in the Antigua region: Bourbon, Catuai, Caturra, and Typica.

The coffee cherries are grown in Antigua, a region known for its ideal coffee-growing conditions, including its volcanic loam soil. The coffee beans are fully washed and sun dried, a process that involves removing the outer layers of the coffee cherry to reveal the beans inside. The beans are then washed to remove any remaining fruit and dried in the sun, resulting in a clean and crisp flavor.

Overall, Guatemala coffee is a premium coffee with a unique flavor profile that is the result of its high altitude, unique growing conditions, and careful processing methods.
